Injured Worker's Mother Charges Workers Comp Fraud At CA Fraud Assessment Commission6/17/2009

Sandi Trend, the mother of injured Agraquest worker David Bell spoke at the California Fraud Assessment Commission in Sacramento on 6/17/2009 about the illness of her son at the Agraquest company in Davis, California. Trend demanded that the California Fraud Commission investigate the cover-up of fraud by the failure of the District Attorney's to do their job and the role of the owner of Agraquest Pam Marrone in this criminal fraud. She pointed out that the Yolo County DA Daniel Stroski, the Sacramento DA and the Insurance Commission had refused to prosecute Marrone's fraud. This FAC commission does oversight on California District Attorneys prosecuting fraud and dispenses more than $29 million to District Attorney's in California to investigate Workers Comp fraud. However they refuse to go after systemic fraud by the insurance industry bosses and those involved in this case. Pam Marrone and Agraquest conspired to violate health and safety regulations and lied about the injuries of employee David Bell to cover-up their liability. The insurance company Liberty Mutual has also fought David Bell's effort to get his healthcare taken care of.
The FAC commission which is chaired by William Zachry has itself refused to act and the fact that Zachry is also in insurance executive as Vice President of Risk Management for Safeway Inc.

This Mother of an injured worker has every right to raise her complaint against funding through this fraud commission. The funding is going disproportionatey against workers instead of against insurance fraud by employers and insurance companies. I find it indecent that when the public wants to speak out at a public hearing that they are continuously disrupted and interrupted. What exactly does this fraud commission do?

This poor lady should know these people are all stake holders in Workmens Compensation Acts the goverment the lawyers the Doctors and the unions and these commissions all are part and parcel of course they will nail workers making false claim but they will never nail big employers that commit fraud its not in their best interest to do so.

Excellent Piece; I owned my company for almost 20yrs. Paid for Workers Comp. for all employees and for myself. When I was seriously poisoned from the use of liquid adhesives, due to long term exposure. Not only was I denied workers comp.payments after receiving my check for only 3months, when my so call hearing was a fares, they gave me lifetime medical only, and anyone that tries to even receive even that is a joke. When I contacted Hartford Ins. they told me, get this to Sue Them....

the workmens comp system potects the employer. These people are a bunch of liars and cheats. They do nothing for the injured worker. The traing program provided is crap and its like pulling hens teeth to get anything done.

The FAC gets money from self-insured corporations like SAFEWAY & KAISER to prosecute it's own workers after they've filed a worker comp claim. So not only are these employers self-certifiied by the state, be a self insured employer, they injure their workers, but control & deny their claims & pay the FAC to be hunted for false prosecution and persecutions. If the FAC went after those that pay for injuring workers and criminally covering up their crimes, the state self insurance would not exist.
