We have not done a comprehensive tutorial on ShoreTel since Version 8. Version 12 represents some significant changes, not just in feature content, but in architectural options. This is the Intro to our ShoreTel Version 12 Tutorial and it outlines the series plan!

  • We can look for what is wrong; or we can focus on what is right, good and moves us all forward. I would agree that the upgrade strategy is a bit complex. If you have 9.1 there might be a 10.2 and and 11.2 and a 12.0. If you stay on the .0 track you might miss a maintenance release from the previous release of a .1 or .2 you have to make that decision. I am expecting a 12.1 during July. I try to focus on how to make things better.

  • Let's not get too excited about v12. If you happen to be running ST v11.1 you CANNOT upgrade to v12 - period. So if you need support for CURRENT Microsoft OS's and application suites (Office/Outlook 2010) you are OUT OF LUCK until version 12.1.

Given ShoreTel's horrific performance on version upgrades as of late, if you're running 11.1 I wouldn't recommend holding your breath for v12.1. But hey, what's the rush? Office 2010 has only been in RTM for a year.
