the insane thing about Monte is he plays all THAT on a $200. ACOUSTIC guitar.

When I bought my first guitar, this guy in the store told me about Monte Montgomery. He said that I was buying the same kind of guitar as him, and that he'd had it for 30 years and even wrote a song for it and that I should check him out on the internet when I got home. I am much grateful to this man.

It's 22 years actually but some of his songs like "Sunday song" he did write when he was about 15. He's in his early 40s now so the guitar and the talent are just amazing. Glad you have become a Montiac!

I don't know anything about Monte - maybe he's humble, maybe he's arrogant - but I do know that many of us will, one day, look back over our lives and say to ourselves, "What did I do that was meaningful?" If Monte ever has cause to ask himself that question ... from 4.34 onwards.Simply wonderful. He's touched my life. No small gift.

Where do I start?! This is THE most moving video I have ever seen on youtube. I just can't stop watching it! Like many of you on here, I'm also a guitarist, and this performance is just.. Out of this world. I feel truly privileged to have come across Monty. I'm just bummed it didn't happen sooner. I can't recall ever hearing a guitarist blow me away like this.

2005 November issue of Acoustic Guitar, the 2005 Winter edition of Frets, Guitar Player Magazine in 2004 as one of "The Top 50 All-Time Greatest Guitarists" as well as listed atop of Guitar One Magazines "Top 10 Best Undiscovered Guitarists in America" list in the late 1990s. Montgomery has also won the "Best Acoustic Guitar Player" award at the SXSW Festivals Austin Music Awards seven years in a row (1998-2004) the only artist to have ever done so.
