People Change and Promises are Broken Ch. 47

Liz: (trying not to cry) Where's Kelly?
Denise: She's in the car with Joe.
Kevin: This'll hurt a bit.
Nick: Just get it over with quickly please.
Kevin: (quickly picks up Nick and lays him in the middle seat of the van)
Nick: (yelps in pain) Thanks.
Kevin: No problem. I'll drive the van if you want to go in the car with Joe and Kelly, Mom.
Denise: Sounds good. (goes over to the car) And please be careful.
Liz: Don't worry, Denise. (smiles)
In the car with Denise, Joe, and Kelly.
Joe: Are you sure you're okay?
Kelly: Yeah, I'm fine. Did you get rid of the cologne?
Joe: Yes, I took a quick shower after I got dragged out of the room. I sneaking into the faculty locker room.
Denise: Joseph.
Joe: (smiles)
Kelly: Are you okay?
Joe: Yeah. What did they do to you?
Kelly: The doctor strapped me to the bed, and the restraints were too tight. Plus he had one on my broken arm.
Joe: I'm sorry. If only I could have been as brave as Nick, this wouldn't have happened.
Kelly: Don't blame yourself. (snuggles into Joe's chest) I love you.
Joe: (smiles) I love you too, Kell. (leans in to kiss her)
Denise: (suddenly swerves)
Kelly: Ahhh!
Denise: Sorry, there was a skunk.
Joe: (kisses Kelly)
Kelly: (pulls away and smiles)
Joe: What?
Kelly: (points to Denise)
Joe: (laughs)
Denise: (looks at them through the mirror) Don't think I didn't see your tongue, Joseph.
Kelly: (laughs)
With Kevin, Liz, Nick, and April.
Kevin: You alright, Nick?
Nick: Yeah.
Liz: (driving) We'll be there in about 30 minutes.
April: (holding a cold Diet Coke on Nick's head) Does the Coke help?
Nick: (smiles) Yeah.
Kevin: I thought you would have drank it all by now.
Nick: (laughs) Ow! (bends over holding his stomach)
Liz: Are you gonna puke?
Nick: No.
April: (has her arm around Nick) You'll be fine.
Nick: I know.
Kevin: I don't see mom anywhere.
Liz: (hands Kevin her cell phone) Can you call her?
Kevin: Yeah. (calls Denise)
Denise: Hello.
Kevin: Hey mom, where are you?
Denise: Sorry, we had to find somewhere that Kelly could use the restroom.
Kevin: That's alright.
Denise: Hang on a sec, JOE! Leave the bee alone and it won't hurt you!
Kevin: (laughing)
Denise: How much longer til you get there?
Kevin: 25 minutes.
Denise: Alright. We'll be there in about 35 minutes. How's Nick?
Kevin: (looks back at Nick) A little better.
Denise: (sighs) I gotta go, but I'll see you soon, honey. Be safe.
Kevin: Don't worry, Mom. Love you.
Denise: Love you too. (hangs up)
Liz: What's going on?
Kevin: Kelly had to use a restroom, so they'll be there soon after us.
April: Figures. (laughs)
Nick: (smiles) Speaking of that.
Kevin: (laughs) Can you hold it?
Nick: Yeah. (leans his head back on the head rest and winces in pain)
April: (takes off her jacket and puts it behind Nick's head) Is that better?
Nick: Yeah, thanks. (lightly smiles and closes his eyes)
Liz: What exactly happend back there?
April: Joe wanted to see Kelly, but the nurse kept asking him to leave...(continues with the story) And what happened to you again, Nick?
Nick: I was holding down the nurse so April could get Kelly out, and the security guard threw me across the room then dragged me outside.
Kevin: (frowns) How does Danger always seem to start a fight?
Liz: We can't blame him, Kev.
Kevin: I'm not trying to, but it's like he just can't seem to keep the peace for long.
Nick: It's not his fault. He should have been allowed to be there. It was my choice to do what I did. (lets his arm drop from his head where he's holding the Diet Coke)
April: (takes the Diet Coke and holds it up for Nick) Is that okay?
Nick: Yeah.
Kevin: I'm just getting tired of everything that's happening lately. We can't seem to get a break from any of it.
Liz: It's alright, Kev.
Kevin: I guess. (groans)
April: What's wrong?
Kevin: I think I left my medicine with my mom, and my stomach hurts.
Liz: (giggles and hands Kevin her purse) You gave it to me, remember?
Kevin: Oh yeah. (looking through Liz's purse) Okay, I can't find it anywhere! Is this a bottomless pit?
April: (grabs Liz's purse) Bet ya I'll find it in less than ten seconds.
Kevin: You're on. What are we betting?
April: Hmmm...
Nick: (smiles and whispers something in April's ear)
April: (laughs) Good idea!
Kevin: Nick! What did you say!
