Its good to torque!Don't think triumph put a V8 into the convertable themselves but I will happily stand corrected if they did. I have seen such conversions in magazines. Is the engine standard (doesn't sound like it!), or otherwise?

I had a 1977 and the olny time it sounded like that was when it had a hole in the muffler.

Yes they did. TR7 V8 in Britain and TR8 in USA. Used in rallying also.
Sounds very much like the Mustang in Bullitt btw.
