How cool. Capt Video was a little before my time. The company I purchased the DVD from says that this episode is the only surviving copy of the show. The rest were destroyed in a fire. Apparaently it was produced by NBC, east coast I would assume.

Not NBC. Produced by the DuMont network, which went kuput in 1955. DuMont was also one of the early companies that made TV's. DuMont had a lot of creative and original stuff and they were an early casualty of media consolidation, which is evil. The other famous DuMont show was The Honeymooners. Ep #1 of Honeymooners prominently mentioned Capt. Video. True fact.

Thanks for the correction. I was just going by the DVD I got this off of. I heard of the Dumont network. I think that version of the Honeymooners were just skits of a larger variety program and had a different actress playing Alice.
