How to Focus:

I devised this method of focusing to in order to focus on more videos for 2012... and so far, it's worked amazingly.

First, to better understand the science, it's important to know that Focus is an energy, as is all things, with a counterpart; and this counterpart is what I call Flow. Where Focus is an energy at Rest, Flow is the opposite where energy constantly moves. Although your mind may being flowing on an idea, the kick is that you are focused on the subject!

There are areas we can focus well, and areas we can Flow well at, therefore, we consist of both FOCUS and FLOW, everyone of us!

Example 1:
I weave through traffic all the time because I enjoy flowing, rather than sticking to one lane, or, focusing on one lane.

Example 2:
I enjoy flowing through many friends, rather than focusing on few.

I am spontaneous (flow).
I don't like changes (focus).

You get the idea. :D

(the advanced thinkers can really get a kick out of determining which is more significant, the surface or the interior layer. Either way, they both work.)

Furthermore, we can adhere/stick the word FOCUS, and or, FLOW on almost any subject. The answer lies in the fact that focus and rest, again, are the two contrasting states of energy. And guess what? All of life is energy, whether physical or metaphysical.

(Your every day life is a FLOW and REST balance always interchanging.)

++ You are a collection of FLOW and FOCUS energies. ++

So, in order to focus on anything, we need Focus Energy. It is our currency of energy required for focus. And we can get this focus energy from a variety of places. Where?

If you guessed FLOW, then you are correct.

The answer is finding places where you flow well (ie. weaving through traffic) and change that FLOW to FOCUS. In so doing, you've consciously developed more Focus-Energy; and accepted where focus is required. The more you do this, the larger the collection of Focus-Energy.

THE KEY is in picking SIMPLE/EASY flowing-habits and work your way to the difficult ones if necessary.

Example:
Focus on one lane, rather than flowing through many. (easy for me, cause i have the required patience level)
Focus on few friends, rather than flowing through many. (difficult for me because new energy feeds into my flowing account to which I need to support my desired flowing-lifestyle)

AGAINAGAINAGAIN

We all understand that energy is created out of thought. Your thoughts are energy.
Therefore the more FOCUS energy you spend creating (my method is one among many that does this) the more you have saved up. Remember, pick flow-habits that what works for you.

    - Last question :P

    As this is energy, it implies in all things. Am I right if I say that this can also be used to develop patience? For example if you start to focus on being patience in those things that I have easy at being patient at. As a result I would have created patient energy and have saved it into my patient bank account. Is this true? - I have another question for you if it is okay, will write at another time :)

  • @lolzman300 absolutely. you nailed it head on. it depends on what you want to achieve, but the idea is to take a backdoor approach as opposed to relying on one direct line. You are virtually mining energy from other sources rather than depending on one source, which you might have already weakened or depleted.

  • @JxonDany If I may. Now that you look at all areas and start focusing where you have it easiest and also where you normally would flow. Wouldn't it be logical to also look at areas where you focus incredible well, and begin to flow as a contrast? Would that be helpful?

  • I managed to focus on this video for 2 minutes and 48 seconds. Woot!

  • @sykkix Look to other areas where you lack focus. Areas that are easiest to you, and develop focus there. By becoming focused in those "insignificant" or "unimportant" areas, you are developing more overall focus.

    I feel like you are speaking in riddles. I still don't quite get it.

  • @jerman885 hey jerman, the idea is to build focuses in areas easiest for you to attain (thereby changing that habit) and building up that focus energy you've thoughtfully created.

  • I may have missed something, maybe in a previous video you spoke about "focus bank", but I just did not get the concept in this video. Will check the other videos, maybe it will make more sense then.
