Tiny Tansy Aspinall Meets The Gorillas

The Aspinall Foundation's flagship project remains the work we do to protect gorillas in the neighbouring countries of Congo and Gabon. The charity has released over 40 confiscated wild born gorillas, reintroduced 9 gorillas, born at the wild animal parks in Kent, back into the wild and celebrated 20 births since the projects were first established.

Questo lo pensavo da prima di questo video, e ero sicuro che non sarebbero andati contro natura, sono molto piu umani di tanti umani.

As awesome as this is, I don't think I'd have the balls to let my kid play with a gorilla.

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone with all of you morons saying how beautiful this is. This guy put his kid in as much danger as a child could possibly be in. If you think this is wonderful, you live in a dreamland. Fuck you. This kid's parents should be getting a visit from child services immediately so as to make them understand that this can't continue. If you disagree with me, you are as wrong as racists, homophobics, and the generally doomed.

Number one, you didn't name three groups at all and you come off as a moron. Number two, anyone who lets their child play with a gorilla is a fucking moron. A fucking moron who should have child services take their kid away.

    Period.

If you think letting your child play with a gorilla is okay, then you are a fucking moron.

    Period.

I have no respect for you or anyone who agrees with you. Educate yourself before you do more harm to the world.

No, there are three groups, those who struggle with understanding what is going on here, those who are wary (understandably) and those who have enough knowledge of the subject to know that in the right place, at the right time, encouraging this kind of contact is essential to show the other side of the “King Kong” myth. In my case, my opinion is based on experience of gorillas, what is yours?

I can understand why people watching this would be wary. However, most people’s personal experience of gorillas cannot be compared to that of Damian Aspinall. As toddlers, both Damian & his sister interacted with the gorillas. Neither Damian nor his sister came to any harm. Gorillas are highly intelligent and can be very gentle. Especially older females. I would be more likely to trust my child with a gorilla I knew well than I would trust some humans.

Amazing footage. It's wonderful to see the interaction with a human child, but I admit I doubt I would trust enough to allow a child unprotected contact w/a gorilla.
