FORGIVE THE SOUND PROBLEM

On April 8, 2011, the US Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis hosted a national Roundtable on HIV and Employment at which I was honored to testify. Representatives of the US Department of Justice and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission testified as well.

As of 2009, Congress passed legislation that specifically included HIV/AIDS in the protections of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) that prohibits against discrimination in hiring or employment. If you have problems, you have rights and can get help.

  • notice this vid is shot in the gay community. I would not be comfortable with a HIV person serving me.

  • @orbital92hotmail So you're correlating being HIV positive to t gay community? Also if that's true you probably have already been served by a poz server and how would you know unless you asked your waiter which I hope you didn't

  • Thank you, man.

  • @dafilla Hey you're very welcome Sir

  • Discrimination against persons with HIV is forbidden by federal and DC law and applies to food service, health care, personal services, etc. As of 2009, Congress passed legislation that specifically included HIV/AIDS in the protections of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) that prohibits against discrimination n hiring or employment. The US Departments of Labor and Justice as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission all enforce this law. If you have problems, let them know.

  • Thanks for another informative video!

  • I insist on only going to a place where ALL food is handled by someone wearing gloves. I purposefully avoid local fast food joints especially those owned by indians who don't follow this rule.
