This clip shows some of the work of catching and processing fish aboard a deep sea fishing sterntrawler, the Arctic Ranger, in the mid 1970s. The Ranger was a sister ship of the Gaul , lost while fishing in 1974 , with all 36 crew, aboard. A clip of the investigation of the sinking of the Gaul is posted to YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq5X8YL8ji4 . Commercial fishing consistently experiences one of the highest occupational fatality rates. In 2006, commercial fishermen had the most dangerous job in the United States, with an annual fatality rate that was 36 times greater than the rate of all U.S. workers. For more information on the severe hazards faced by workers in commercial fishing and methods for improving safety, go to the US NIOSH Commercial Fishing Safety website at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/fishi... .

Arctic Ranger was registered in Hull as H155.
Previous nameholder was a Hull sidedragger scrapped in 1976.
replacement wasn't registered until 1986 so if this is the 70's, it isnt the Arctic Ranger.
The commentary is definately from a Hull man though, cant mistake that accent.
I'm from Grimsby by the way so this is a bit of a pet subject for me. My 1st trip to Iceland deep water was in 1971.
