  • Richter had his reputation based upon the fact that he could play anything well - and on the beat.

There's more to this music than that ;-)

  • IMPRESIONANTE ¡

  • @colinthepianist yep maybe its the technical problem of the video

  • This is certainly the best recording I've heard of the Brandenburg 3 thus far. My only gripe is that for some reason I'm not sure of, the violins come in an eighth note early at 5:06. Maybe that eighth note worth of time was omitted due to a mistake. I don't know.

But other than that, I love it!

  • Wonderful version! I LOVE it! I'm playing this for a concert, and, even though i'm a violinist, I'm playing the viola part, and they played it beautilfully in this version! Bravo, or should I say BRAVA!

  • Persons, when I was in front of the Branderburg Gate in Berlin, on my head was this music.

I have home made recording of this work with Gardiner in front of the CBC Vancouver..

    Thank you.♦

  • J.S. Bach: The first metallhead in the world - the best!

  • You can't not love Bach -_-

  • Thank god for scoreless ability to interpret and this is the best interpretation....others are too fast, slow, weak, soft..........just are not the same

  • There's a fundamental difference between Richter's approach to the Brandenburg Concertos which is up to this day unparalleled. The greatness of Bach is conveyed by the simplicity of his interpretation, no fancy agogic, just the music as it is, nothing more, nothing less. His recordings of the Brandenburg Concertos had a profound influence in my life, and I am yet to hear another recording which comes anywhere close to his outstanding interpretation.

  • The third Brandenburg is one of my all time favorite pieces of music. I like this version. Being played in an art gallery, the room was extremely "acoustically live." Lots of hard reflective surfaces, especially the floor. But it actually made the sound brighter in this case. I could have lived without all the standing and pointing--strictly showmanship. It was very good that the director did not overcut the video--often there is far too much editing, and jumping around. Nice work!

  • Best radio station in the UK...Classic FM...always on in the car...pure bliss ;)
