SEVEN HOT TOPICS ON NEW DRUGS: WHAT'S NEW ON THE STREETS

This short discussion generator DVD details the growth of pharmaceutical drug abuse through the ease of increasing availability from the internet, and the influx of  new substances  brought by illegal aliens.  Dr. Newman talks about the plants in your yard, pharming parties, and the recognition that drug use is not only a ghetto/hood problem, but is also prevalent in upper and middle-class neighborhoods.  He also discusses natural plants and herbs that are perceived safer by young people.  He points out in addition to the standard drugs of choice, theres a wider choice available today.

Dan Newman, PhDis a health educator based in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area, covering southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky.  He is on the faculty of the Cincinnati STD/HIV Prevention Training Center, on the HIV advisory board of the Thunder Child Treatment Center and intertribal recovery organization in Sheridan, Wyoming.  He recently received his PhD and concentrates on speaking and research.
