San Isidoro de León V.O. Pt 2

From the Joining of Heaven and Earth. Part two of a two parter on the Royal Basilica at León which is one of the greatest monuments of Spanish Romanesque. It was the last major station on the pilgrimage road to Compostela before Santiago itself. The relics of Saint Isidore, father of the Spanish church were held here, brought by king Ferdiand Ist. The church features two great portal sculptures, the Puerta del Corderón and the Puerta del Perdón.
