Mike Gravel: I support a carbon tax. That'll raise the price of gasoline. Let's be candid about that. If we want to get off of the dependency in the Middle East, we have to own up to the problem. These things cost money. They're controlling our society. The sooner we stop fighting these wars, stop and think. You only see $3. Just watch those wheels turn. There's another $4, which is what we spend to keep American troops around the world to keep the price. So you're paying more than $7 a gallon; you just don't know it.

Q: How do you get Americans to conserve?
Mike Gravel: Very simple, change our tax structure. Have a fair tax where people are taxed on what they spend rather than what they earn. And our tax system is totally corrupt right now. And so if we now have a retail sales tax, you'll take this nation of ours from a consuming nation to a savings nation. And that's the most significant thing we can do to alter climate change.

Wow....Gravel doesn't have clue one about energy and environmentalism. Luckily, McCain DOES. And it's overwhelmingly more likely that McCain will be President than Gravel. For those of you who don't know, nuclear fusion is on the cusp of becoming a reality (look for it to be a big story sometime this summer). It's going to change EVERYTHING. McCain is the ONLY Presidential candidate who bothered to investigate what's going on with this.

Too much control creates rebellion. More control leads to repression. Repression leads to revolt. Revolt creates anarchy. Anarchy leads to order. Order leads to disorder. Disorder leads to control. The goal is preservation and stability. The way must change from destruction to creativity.

Trust is something to be earned. If the trust is broken, you hold them accountable, or yourself accountable for being a poor judge of caricature in the first place. Who is going to decide which issues are important, and requiring voting polls to govern with. What is important to one, may not be important to others. People can voice their opinions now, and they can make them count.

and they vote on a candidate that shares their same views, they use the power of the pen to write and express their views. It's not the system we have now that is the problem, the problem is the people in the system. We hold them accountable for their voting records. You expose their crimes, etc etc You want to take that away, so no one can be held accountable for anything.

we both know that the majority of Americans are not geniuses. They are JUST smart enough now though that they can run their own country as far as the issues that directly effect us as citizens.
