Atlantic Storm Batters South West England.

Filmed at Portreath, at around 6pm GMT onwards.
storm batters the South West Of England, This was filmed at Portreath in Cornwall and there must of been a couple of hundred people at least turn up to watch the waves, in the end, HM Coastguard and about 10 cops turned up and made everyone stand even further back. This was not the worst storm I have seen by far. And certainly will not be the last. (10th March 2008)

Dec 89 - couple of wks b4 before Xmas. That storm hit the South coast of Cornwall hardest, & is the worst I've ever seen (in 40 yrs). I remember seeing a man opening his car door & the wind ripped the door right off and wrapped it round the bumper. That winter was hellish in many places - but the terrible Burns Night Storm of 1990 has been strangely forgotten (unlike Oct 87).

I live inland [Bristol areaish] but occasionally, if there is a very severe storm, we actually get SEA WATER on our south west facing windows-it is salty. Rare, but just shows the power of the winds.

@paul1967uk I respect mother nature more than anything. I'm a surfer so I know what water can do to the human body, it's not pretty. Scary!
