Credit: Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie (1995) by Peter Kuran

The "Trinity" test was the first test of a nuclear weapon, conducted by the United States on July 16, 1945 at 33.675° N 106.475° W, thirty miles (48 km) southeast of Socorro on what is now White Sands Missile Range, headquartered near Alamogordo, New Mexico. It was a test of an implosion-design plutonium bomb, the same type of weapon later dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. The detonation was equivalent to the explosion of around 20 kilotons of TNT, and is usually credited as the beginning of the Atomic Age.

  • I love that comic who made fun of the terrorists, saying they got a call from Japan.

Are you crazy!? The last time we messed with the US, they sent us a bomb so big, our penises got smaller!!!

    ROFL!!!

  • I'm terribly sorry, I stand corrected. It's scientifically proven. And it is and will always be. And I'm also sorry that english is not my first language, but I think you know perfectly well what I meant. It's rather funny you're leaving this argument because my grammatical level is not at the same height as yours, and that I do not share my full name. I think your subconsciousness wants you to leave because my argument interferes with your belief.

  • long live oppenhiemer

  • @hubrusful but russia and the soviets perfected the nuke (see the tsar bomba)

  • @TitusFlavius79 i tohught someone like perlmen or freeman would narrorate this.

  • hubrusful wrote, "[...] it is thought the first nuclear 'accident' was deliberately caused by one of the three horribly killed in it."

which incident are you talking about?

  • Trinity is the street name on nuketown on black ops

  • @hubrusful That Japan meltdown happened because of a naturally caused isolated incident, not because of unsafe conditions. By that logic, common electric companies are "dangerous," whenever a transformer blows. Learn your facts before you go all greenpeace on us.

  • Nukes is no longer the worry. It is nuclear technology itself. Why this is not clear to all with a brain is beyond me. As long as there is human error, no nuclear plant is safe. In fact, it is thought the first nuclear "accident" was deliberately caused by one of the three horribly killed in it. How can anyone think any nuclear technology is "safe?" That is what the Japanese people were told......

  • I've been to the Trinity Site - it is awesome!

Go if you ever get the chance. It's such a weird feeling standing at ground zero.

  • IT WAS NAZIS ETC WHO HELPED AMERICA CREATE THE NUKE AND OTHER WEAPONS The americas took alot of nazis scientists etc and took them to america to work on loads of attept to defeat japan and then after the war they let loads of nazi into america to work for there military and the british
