Also worth noting is the collection of ice core samples to assess a historical climate record is a practice within sub-discipline of climate science known as Paleoclimatology. This is a very small fraction of today's practicing "climatologists", most of which have a fundamental educational background on atmospheric science (i.e., meteorology).

This is not to say that all climate scientists don't have a firm grasp on the physics behind climate processes, however we do tend to say an over abundance of statistics trying to explain physical processes. GCMs are a step in the right direction, but ultimately global observations from satellites are key to understanding climate sensitivity.

The primary difference between meteorology and climatology is how much time is spent studying and applying statistical methods (i.e., correlation and stochastic trends, EOF analysis, etc...). A climate scientist typically has an educational background in atmospheric science, although not always (a substantial number of ocean scientists study the effects of climate upon the ocean). Dr. Spencer is merely pointing out the physical inconsistencies in the assertions made by statistical analysis.

The sun seems more intense than when I was a kid.

What about the ice core samples and rapidly melting polar ice caps which haven't been this small in the past million years. Roy Spencer is not a CLIMATOLOGIST!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has a Ph.D in meteorology which is not the same. He has never done a SCIENTIFIC study ever in climatology and there is not data to support his rediculous theory of global cooling.

CO2 is not responsible for climate change, i.e. it does not trap heat within the earths atmosphere. In fact, a proliferation of CO2 in the earths atmosphere, if true, would actually be beneficial to plant-life, as this is what they actually breathe.
nice to hear someone talking sense.
where are ALL the scientists defending AGW? have they melted away? Is Al Gore the last man standing?
in all aspects of life, those who avoid debate are usually wrong.

actually it DOES trap heat within the Earth's atmosphere. Watch the video.
