Woodrow Wilson Wildcats celebrate field goal

Dallas Woodrow Wilson High (10-1) made it to the UIL area playoffs in football in fall 2011. They didn't quite make it past top state-ranked, undefeated Highland Park; however this video shows that they won in enthusiam, spirit and twice the crowd. Cameron Gomez kicked a 45-yard field goal to end the half. First string kicker Damian Garcia was out with an injury. Damian is cousin to 1978 Wildcat football standout Vincent Lopez. In the 1978 class was also Woodrow's famous kicker, Eddie Garcia (no relation). Eddie played for SMU and the Green Bay Packers. He still holds records for his scoring at SMU where he is just behind Doak Walker and Eric Dickerson for all-time most points scored.
