  • Brian Jones was the "real deal" in the Stones. He could "Riff"

  • @sail1948 He's not a fantastic solo player but he DID play the solo on sympathy for the devil. Claming something else is stupid.

  • @M1t20 hahaha! I know right?

  • Which Pope did that?

  • @sail1948 ... You can't hear Keef because he "weaves" with Brian, Mick, or Ronnie.

  • @70sLAgirl Keef didnt play the solo on "Sympathy for the Devil" or any of the Stones recordings. Point me to a site on Youtube where I can hear the man riff. You wont be able to because none exists for the simple reason that he cant riff. he's a gifted songwriter but only a rythmn guitarist.

  • Sorry, Clapton. Richards is god.

  • @sail1948

Damn, you need hearing aid, mate ! Listen to Sympathy for the devil's solo in Get yer ya ya's out, and you'll know. Listen to stuff like Live with me, and so on ! It's not only talent on SONGWRITING, it's talent on PLAYING them ! Keith plays like no one, there will never be another one like him ! This man is the Man, and what makes me laugh is how deaf you are, if you've not noticed it yet.

  • @Tagesvensson By the way I think you meant accept not "except"

  • @Tagesvensson Yeah it is subjective and probably a tad pedantic for me to keep on about the difference between riffs and chord progression. Can Keef riff like Clapton, Young, B. B. King etc bloody Etc? No he cant and thats the point I was trying to make. I'm not trying to trash his awesome song writing skills but trying to add a bit of realism surrounding him and the Stones in general. For "Rolling Stone" magazine to say he's the 4th best guitarist ever is absurd. Over and efin out
