In this lesson we teach how to play a good old banjo song about the Cumberland Gap. Now the Cumberland Gap in actual place in the mountain of Tennessee.

This was my first banjo song, I heard it growing up on famous fishing show called woods and water.

  • how long did it take you to get your first song perfect?

  • Yeah, I think Woods and Waters was Bill Halls show. I think he means Tennessee Outdoorsman with Jimmy Holt and Larry Munson (later Glenn Smith). Great playing.

  • They used to play that on Tennessee outdoorsmen on TNN when i was a kid. i sure do miss that show lol.

  • Thanks, I'm going to try to learn to play it like that!!
