A lot of people think to throw a flick you have to use a lot of you arm and body. The power all starts in the wrist.

  • whats the music on 0:46

  • @gillergod0 The link is in the description in my Frisbee Trick Shots - Basketball Edition

  • that motion is all arm... you bend the elbow to bring the hand back and snap the arm to bring the hand forward...

  • @mds38 What do you mean?

  • @brodiesmith21 you said you would try your best to use only wrist, but you used a lot of arm. i mean... just watch the video, and it's pretty clear the arm moves. also, sorry i sounded like a douche in my previous comment.

  • @mds38 I tried to do my best to limit my arm motion to emphasize how important the snap in the wrist is in throwing a flick.

I think what mds38 was trying to say is that the power technically comes from the arm, and that the emphasis on the wrist is technically due to the fact that the momentum generated from the arm "converges" at the wrist. Not to de-emphasize the wrist - it is no doubt the most important aspect of the flick. But it's not the wrist muscles that generate the power - just the use of the wrist joint. Am I right?

  • @gillergod0 Beast Mode - B.O.B.

  • helps so much. thanks bro

  • @gillergod0 It's Beast Mode by B.o.B

  • @brodiesmith21 what exactly do you middle and index finger do while flicking the forehand?

  • @gillergod0 it's beast mode - B.o.B from his mixtape No Genre

  • Wow that was sick!

  • The wrist snap is important, but so too is moving your elbow forward. Even when you tried not too, you did snap your elbow back then forward. My thoughts are on my Thinkulti blog.

The elbow is rarely mentioned because we don't notice it. Likewise with holding the disc vertically. Not doing these correctly is the cause of many problems for people throwing forehand.
