No, not every Dark Age king and Roman emperor commited genocide in the name of God. None of them were exactly nice, but they weren't all bastards like Charlemagne.

Charlemagne was a bastard. He slaughtered hundreds of Saxons for refusing to give up their native religion. He commited GENOCIDE against a people family to his own. If he really wanted to "save them" he would have kept them alive and not murdered them. If he was alive today, he would be vilified and have every country on Earth breathing down his neck. Charlemagne should be kicked off the pedestal history has put him and be recognized as the tyrant he was.
