USS Cod is on Cleveland, Ohio's lake front. Check spring/summer/fall hours for visitors.

USS Cod is the most authentic of 20 or so submarine memorials/museums in the USA. Going down and up hatches' vertical ladders is how these submariners did it. If you visit Cod, check the Martini glass on its sail. Or go to Cod's website, check the only international sub-to-sub rescue -- Cod's rescue of Dutch 0-19 crew, then sinking this sub so Japan wouldn't get hold of it.

There is an incomprehensible omission in this series. Episodes are devoted to the American, German and Japanese submarine services. What of the Royal Navy? There is mention of the X-craft in the episode on clandestine operations, but even then the exploits of Naismith`s E11 in WW1 are not mentioned. E11 is significant because it was the first submarine to carry out a clandestine operation, when the XO went ashore overnight to blow up key targets with charges. Ep on RN Sub Branch Please.

@LTinvasion war is how we keep peace, to have fun as you say. if it wernt for war we wouldnt have the technology we have today.

This was almost identical to an incident with the USS Darter and Dace.

Been onboard her and the sub in Pearl Harbor. Great sailors, Great Service and Great Navy!
The USS Cod can be boarded but they don't make it easy for visitors. You have to enter through the aft hatch and exit forward without any kind of public stairs. You enter as the crew would.

Splendid. Good work. The Pacific war would have gone on much longer but for our Silent Service. If only our culture, in the last 64 years, had demonstrated that it deserved heroes such as these. Alas!
