Compelling and heart wrenching video of Cynthia McKinney supporting the family of Gregory Wright during his execution in Huntsville Texas. He was executed shortly after 6PM on October 30. There's evidence that he may have been wrongly convicted of murder. McKinney speaks out against the death penalty. Note that Obama supports the death penalty.

  • The real sick irony of all this, is that it's based on the concept of free will, which is an illusion. Even if this man were responsible for the "murder," the proper response would be to help him. Yes, that sounds backwards to the reader, because we as a species suffer from a collective delusion that only understands punishment and retribution-based "justice," built on the free will myth.

  • Our crime rate and incarceration rate may have, in part, something to do with how this society treats people.

If instead of lending a helping hand, you kick someone when they're down, they may do horrible things out of desperation and anger.

When this society shows retribution is "the way" than individuals may resort to retribution and violence begets violence.

  • This is really sad and I know Texas is the Executioner state of the world but hopefully with Attorney General Craig Watkins and the DNA program innocent lives can be spared from the DEATH PENALTY. I mean just look at Troy Davis, a couple of lies will now send him to a fate he doesn't deserve. The witnesses decided to recant their stories but I am like it is too late for that and you should live with the guilt for the rest of your lives.

  • Death is irrevocable. A single mistake in the justice system and someone wrongly is executed.

Barack Obama supports the death penalty and yet so many people who oppose it voted for him. . . . and ultimately some people may die as a result.

  • I don't agree with McKinney much but good job opposing the Death Penalty!

  • And even if this where the only thing we agreed on it certainly is a matter of life and death for some.

  • I hope these laws are changed. Governments do not have the right to take a life if there is the question about guilt.

  • They need to sebd the rapists and horrible pple to the war instead of innocent pple

  • Did Ms. McKinney support the victim's family?

  • No killer is guilty. Ask them.

Thank God I live in Texas.

  • The people of America should legalize a bill to strip citizenship, American or not, and deport these hardcore criminals/repeat offenders to either India, Mexico, or Saudi Arabia. Foreign countries sure "LOVE" Americans. Especially when they are now under their Country's Law. There are no "handouts" in these countries. Just a hole in the floor, rotted food every 3 days or so with overcrowded sick people. Criminals relinquish their rights but in America it doesn't seem to apply

  • I voted for you on November 4th Cynthia.

  • some people, even lawmakers must believe in Exodus21:23-27 in one way or another.

  • So hearth breaking and why do we have the death penalty anyway ? Two wrongs don't make a right.

  • {hugz}

  • a-mazing, vktrsx! give me a hug.

  • May I ask, how is Misty related to Greg? Do you know who went in and witnessed the exectution?

Im so glad I live in a country without the death penalty, its so scary to think a government could kill a human bieng without a second thought.
