I'd disagree, my comment is true and of the moment..we are all slaves..right now, this is fact, to keep reminding us of the past merely fuels ill feeling on negative issues that no longer serve the good of mankind, we must move forward and address the problems we have today, the past cannot be changed but the future can.

@courtneyfilms . Your comment entirely misses the point that Kwame is making. We should never dismiss or play down the significance of slavery for black people in England and across the world, any more than we should play down the significance of the holocaust for Jewish people.  Kwame is, I think, the only black theatre director who has stood up to support this - England's oldest working theatre. Black spectators at Bristol plays are still rare, so his voice is especially useful.

Why does he always remind us of Bristol's history of Slavery..It creates a negative feeling towards the City, surely lesson have been learned from the past and surely we have moved on? unfortunatley this guy seems to be stuck on it and misses the fact, we are all slaves in this modern corporate world..right now..oneway or another, not just Black people, please remember this. long live Bristol..Bristol Old Vic, bannish modern slavery.
