It doesn't sound reggae... Kind of a Southern Marshall Tucker/Outlaws countrified vocal influence perhaps?

This is the first song I learned on the guitar. I was 10 years old and it was a hit on the AM radio. I had a Sears Silvertone acoustic sunburst in color. I'm 51 now, and it just poped in my head to youtube and see if its out there, and sure enough, here it is. I didn't detech the regae you mentioned, but a great job non he less!! Rock on brothers!!!!!
