Quebec drivers licence renewals too often

Quebec drivers licence has photo ID and so does the Canadian passport. However, the first is renewed every two years and the second every five. It appears that drivers licences are renewed overly often in order to simply create revenue and, at the same time, work for many otherwise unnecessary Quebec provincial government public employees. Perhaps we should do something about this ?

Actually, QC driver's licenses are issued for 4 years but you have to pay again after 2 years in order to maintain their validity.

In many places in Europe (e.g. Germany) driver's licenses are issued more or less for life and don't have any expiry date.
