  • Ha! You really *do* sound like an American! "Read a history book, man!" What a ridiculous waste of time.

  • LOL....You couldn't be more delusional. America, Germany, Britain when she was building up til 1840s then she when into a slide under free trade, Germany and Japan and China today - all protectionist or protectionist oriented - which simply means they protected their citizens wages, work conditions, industrial strength - thank goodness for that, since we became the Arsenal of Democracy because of protectionism..you should read History before commenting.

  • Sorry man, I think you've been completely mugged over by this guy. It's getting cringe-worthy to even read you being outdone so utterly.

Please, end your fallacies and accept that the major capitalist economies of which you mentioned were, for the most part, vastly anti-protectionist.

Your propaganda is of the worst type: poorly-researched, misinterpreted and uninformed.

  • Anything outside of this friend is fanaticism oriented towards idealogies alien to our Fathers and destructive of nations, which are the firewalls against global tyranny. History, stands in favor of progress, the Progressive philosophy of our Fathers and stands against Communism and Marketism one which is tyranny of Government of the few and the other tyranny of Government of by for the 1% who hold wealth. Government has purpose in the commonwealth and business in retail/industry/services!

  • The true visionaries were our Founding Fathers - including LaFayette, Paine, and Franklin - who unleashed the power of the creative mind of individuals by guaranteeing personal liberty and by insuring national prosperity through Government promotion, sponsorship, protection, and development of the great consumer market that would consume the creative, inventive, and entrepeneual efforts fo the free man. The two together formed Capitalism and what we called the American Way!

  • Government is only inefficient when run by those who wish it to be, tyrannical when operated by those who believe not in democracy but only a republic, and talentless only when private citizens fail to 'ask what they can do for their' fellow man and country.

  • My friend and fellow citizen of America or in the world; you speak of talentless twerps in Government, indeed! - Go tell that to Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton, Madison, Adams, Clay, Webster, Polk, Lincoln, McKinley, T. Roosevelt, W. Wilson, F.D. Roosevelt; and the men of the Armed Services who in Government as Generals and privates gave us Victory in WWI and WWII or to ARPA or DARPA, the men of Government who invented the internet, cells, and modern life!

  • Why would a government relinquish its power to the ideas of visionaries like Friedman, Rothbard, Mises and Hayek? Governments are the bastions of talentless twerps who couldn't get a job in the private sector, so they aren't going to emasculate their own powers in favour of individual freedom and liberty.

  • Since our founding, America embraced an economic system of: government sponsored National Banking, to encourage enterprise and develop manufacturing/agriculture/retail in harmony ; Internal Improvements to build the infrastructure (ie. rail, harbors, roads, bridges) by government spending; and either protective tariffs or social tariffs - so our posterity inherits the wealth of nation. This system we called Capitalism and it was opposed to Marketism developed by your heroes who built nothing.

  • What world are you living in? The living standards of the vast majority of Americans have gone down, the spending ability has reduced, and thus their standard of living...this is a reversal of the past before Marketism and its corporations can run roughshod over wages, environmental protection etc. free trade, privatization, and thus Plutocracy (the net result of your philosophy) took place from Nixon to now.. Japan is not free marketist, nor Germany, China/HK/etc. gain by our loss.
