  • looks awesome Dave,

the style reminds me of comic book covers

  • @WilliamsShamir Hey Willy. long time, how are you? you want to pipe in on the discussion, is it all just a game to see who can copy the photo the best,... or is it about creating something new?

  • But you're just tracing a picture? ):

I think that's sad, cause you have the talent not to.

  • @AlexandoriaART so please don't be sad...my intent in showing the process is to involve people and to reveal the real process professionals use in creating images these days.. that is why the photoshop tools are visible and the photoblock is visible, my best regards,

    David Larks...

  • @standingman Still, tracing an image just seems so.. wrong to me. I mean, if you can draw that without tracing a photo, then.. why don't you?

    - I know, that the grid method is used alot, i use it myself to proportions right, but i don't draw on top of a picture, it's just.. too easy to do that in my mind. It doesn't show the talent, that you truly posses.

I know, that you're a pro, and i've ben in internships, where the ''pro'' asked me, why i didn't just draw on top of the picture

  • @AlexandoriaART hi, I really do appreciate the discussion... just to be clear, I draw a lot of them from rough to finish, just view the Tessla or the Lincoln... I don't need to prove to anybody or myself that I can do that... It's just in this instant i decided to do it this way and show the process that most professionals use everyday... so if you want to compete for the jobs out there, and you want to employ time saving methods (which your clients really desire)... this is the way..best, D

  • @standingman I do know, that professionals use this method alot.

    - I really wanna be a professional, but i might aswell do it myself, if i actually can, which is my goal to be able to. I just don't see the point in doing it this way, if you can learn not to ^^ Of course, i'm only 17, i have quite some time to practice it for now.

  • @standingman but i just can't make myself do that, because that would be cheating my own mind to think, that i'm better than i really am. It doesn't take that much talent to trace a picture imo.

You're really good, no doubt about it, i just don't think tracing is the right way to do it, but that might just be me.

  • It's a great picture, I guess everyone has their own method.

Art is such a cool thing, it draws up so many emotions, and it's so interesting to see everyone create in a way that is comfortable to them. I have always said that If it looks right, it usually is. I've seen a lot of artists work in a lot of different ways, I guess there's no right and wrong really, and you can make your own rules. :-)
