Chris may be a bit whiny, or a baby at some times. But when you are at his age, if you had a thing like this happen, you'd act the same or worse as him. Lay off the hating, and think about it: you're not so different from him. You hate on him for being how he is, and really you're hating yourself. So give him a break.
