Illegal Downloading: This piece was done for a student production at Iowa State University. The RIAA had just sent out the largest batch of litigation letters to college students. Iowa State received the most letters of any college or university. This piece was created to raise awareness that students are actually being sued and students might be sharing music without even knowing.
*This piece won for Best News Reporting in the College of Broadcasters Inc. National Student Production Awards this past fall.

They have to prove you have downloaded those songs illegally. They have to have IP addresses, account names, logs that were provided by ISP tracking each song. These a-holes probably created those software updates to catch people with old settings. So here's a tip folks--move your shit to a separate folder and use VLC player. If you want to download songs illegally--use public wi-fi and torrents. They'll have no IP and nothing on you. Without locator like ISP account or IP they can kiss your ass
