Finally! This is the fight I've been waiting for!

This fight right here is what most consider to be the first REAL boss fight of World 2 in FFV, and I pretty much share the same opinion. Not only is this fight awesome, but it introduces one of the coolest villains in the FF series, Gilgamesh! It's also symbolized by Gilgamesh's awesome theme music as well. The fight itself may not be too hard, but it's definently fun to play through.

Now on the statistics of the battle itself:
You start out by crossing the bridge and fighting various monsters along the way. All it takes is a quick Aqua Breath to take most of them out, as you can see in the video, but when you get half-way across the bridge you meet up with Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh himself is a moderate challenge. He has some high attack priority, and can dish out a few damaging moves. When you weaken him enough, he casts Haste, Protect, and Shell on himself. He then starts using a Jump ability, similar to the Dragoon Knight's. This move usually does 400-500 damage from what I've seen. Even then, he's still not that hard. I know I kinda cheesed him near the end with 1000 Needles and the Titan summon, but I was kinda on a time restriction with this video. ^^;

Side Note: Sorry if the video is a bit scetchy at times. There was some major audio de-sync, and I had to put it back on track in WMM.

  • They look more like flying kittens. xD

  • i love this tune!!

  • i have one question what does it mean when after you hit the monster smoke comes out?

  • Audio desync is such a pain in the arse! Bur I suppose that's one solution.

    Hey that battle was still pretty good. No one was wounded although pretty close to. I've always wandered why Sylph does such low damage.
