  • Couldn't agree more. The tributes I have heard in the last few days have been many and fulsome. But its your last words I want to echo the most - a true and loyal friend and a true gent. I shall miss him very much.

  • Let's not forget that Roger Rae wasn't just a pro player. Every trombone player in the Midlands below a certain age will have been taught by, advised by or helped by Roger. He was always ready to give opportunities, resources or just his time - if he thought it would kindle an interest or help develop a young player.

He was also a true and very loyal friend - and an outstanding man. He will be very much missed.
