dpd officer here. 20+ years. That officer might have been going to a code 2 call which means general emergency. This means drive fast without lights and sirens.. code 3 is with lights and sirens. We are not exempt from laws unless lights and siren are on. yn

thats funny what youre doing, but I think it's great, there's just so many cops out there that think they can brake the law just cause theyre police officers. and sooo many others that are just crooked ASSHOLES!

You should come to Plano some time! Cops regularly running red lights, doing 50-60 in a 40, speeding in school zones, lane changes with no signal, etc.. all without lights on, no sign of emergency, etc.. just "regular" driving

Texas law fact: Any police officer in an emergency vehicle on general patrol (basically working) is exempt from any and all traffic laws. True, look it up. While the department may regulate an officers speed, this officer is not breaking the law.
