  • Yeah the audio at the start is dodgy, but fine throughout the rest of the game so not sure when recorded it sounds like that... weird.

and the version of the game I have now has the swan when you press a certain key... never had that in my original version, so I guess this version is cracked

But if you hop on it you can fly around and get anywhere on the map quickly...

  • This was my all time favourite game on the Amiga 500, closely followed by Defender of the Crown. I am happy to say I completed Fairy Tale. That game was well advanced for it's time. I remember the turtle, killing the witch in the forest to get the lasso for the swan. The cave in the north with the wand. The vanishing city in the desert. The tombs. And I remember in the end after getting past the lava then going through the portal and then being in outer space. Good memories.

  • The music sticks in my head aswell, one of the most haunting themes i guess lol.

I did not play very much this game, it was too frustrating to die and have to start over again, but i liked the music and atmosphere a lot.

  • sometimes i hear the Faery Tale battle theme in my head when i play Skyrim.

  • @pacus123

Thank you, but that is a different melody, although the chords are pretty similar.

  • @Sciesch It's Pachelbel Canon in E.

  • @Doggins25 That's so funny, It did sound just as dodgy on my Amiga in beginning =D

  • @Xcelplus

Can you please hint to the exact name of the piece, I cannot find anything when I search for " Canon in E".

I'd like to hear another version of this theme.

  • It's Bach's Canon in E... although I've hunted up many versions of this and continue to like the Amiga version better than anything else I can find.

  • my brother had this game when i was little, the music gave me nightmares for years - like when it would change and skeleton things ran after you and chased you into a building

  • Hello all. I bought this game and the sound was still buggy. So I coded a fix for it. I used Asm68k and PhxLnk. The code is below

    CODE: MOVE.W #$0001,D0 MOVEA.L #$00DFF0A4,A0 MOVE.W D0,(A0) MOVEA.L #$00DFF0B4,A0 MOVE.W D0,(A0) MOVEA.L #$00DFF0C4,A0 MOVE.W D0,(A0) MOVEA.L #$00DFF0D4,A0 MOVE.W D0,(A0) RTS END

I added the programs in startup-sequence before the game.

  • Had so much fun with this game, love the Battle Music!
