Celebrating now over 50 years of Motown music with one of the most interesting career moves for any jazz performer, Billy Eckstine signs with Motown. In 1965 at the height of that recording company's popularity. Billy obviously thought Berry Gordy was doing something right in Detroit so he cut a few albums for Motown hoping to achieve some popular commercial success he had not had in years. The experiment wasn't a total failure, but Billy never charted with any of these recordings although "Wish You Were Here" was arguably the best of this lot.
Classy! Great tune! Thank you for introducing me to Billy Eckstine....Nice video :)
