this is my son when he was 2 months old. when he was just 2 weeks old, i noticed that he has jerks/seizures. he was referred to a neurologist. when we met the doctor, she said that my baby has mild cerebral palsy.. i was doubtful with what the doctor told me,that's why i took this video. after showing her this video, she said, my baby has myclonic seizure, and she prescribed medicines as his maintenance. now, my baby is 10 month old already and still taking those medicines. his cranial ultrasound and eeg are both ok and normal..but i am still worried about my son's condition that i keep myself looking for answers and ideas in the internet. while reading an article about seizures, a link led me to youtube and saw lots of videos regarding babies with seizures, etc..

when i was still pregnant, i really took care of myself and of my baby inside my tummy(regular check ups, vitamins, etc) when i gave birth, my baby got an 8 on his apgar score but i really had a hard time delivering him because even i was already 10 cm, and my water bag already broke, my baby didn't engage. then i had c-section.. when he was 5 months old, he starts banging his head on the wall and shakes his head.. that worries me a lot, and because of this, i don't have a peace of mind..i worry a lot ..but so far, my son's development are good.. he is responsive, he smiles, giggles, stands, sit, has head control, plays, etc.. i just want to know better about his condition.. i post this video not to abuse my son or what but i need help.. i love my son sooo much and i am praying hard that everything will be fine..hope you can help me especially those parents who have children with the same condition..thank you..

  • He also shakes his head alot back and forth but I've never thought it was unusual. Are you sure these are seizures?! My friends baby just had 2 seizures today and he's at the hosp in Atlanta...Im just wondering if I would know if my son did have one since i have thought those other behaviors were normal?!

  • My son used to do that alot when he was smaller. I assumed it was the startle reflex infants have because his was always bad...especially if he was on his back like that. He also did and still sometimes does what we call "motorcycle hands" where he would shake his hands really fast in fists when he would get tired or just wake up. He's now almost 11 mos and he bangs his head on my chest or his mattress to go to sleep. I looked it up on babycenter and it says some babies do it for rhythm.

  • He is very cute!

It does look like he is having seizures but my son has never had myclonic seizures so I'm not sure if that is what they are or not. If his EEG doesn't show hyps, that's a very good sign. However, seizures, no matter what kind, need to be controlled. Keep pushing for better treatment or ask for a second opinion.
