I'm no expert, but it sounds like you have a short circuit. I mean the circuit is complete when you go direct from the battery and ground, but otherwise it fails. Do you have the same switch configuration I have? Is it a salvage switch part? Mine failed and I replaced with an OEM switch.

OMG!!! I actually needed to do this for my truck! This was so much clearer (and funnier) than the manual directions. I really felt confident doing it myself given the fact that a kitten could do it. I didn't have a high-heel, or a dustpan brush, so I used a hard rubber dog toy. I improvised/adapted/overcame!

Alternately, just open the switch up and clean the contacts. It's free, and takes maybe 5 minutes longer.

well heres my problem the swith is okay and so are the fuses but my window won;t go up/down unless i manually give the motor power from a direct battery line with a wire and then i ground a wire. motor is good switch is good but neither the windows both sides or the door locks work
