  • did he die of old age??? do you work at like race horse rescue or what

  • He was 32 and was in kidney failure. I was John's groom for 10 years before I went back to culinary school earlier this year.

  • He was an amazing story, a beautiful horse. His heart was so big...there will never be another John. You're so fortunate to have been his friend and caregiver for so long. I met him twice, and both times he had me mesmerized.

  • That is the most touching tribute to a truly super horse! You are so privlidged to have been his friend.

  • Very very nice. I'm working on a tribute to this noble beast.

  • Thank you for sharing this tribute. My daughter attended UK in the early 90's, and a trip to see her always included a stop to see John. You folks once allowed me to pull his mane for a keepsake... it's here with his portrait. Truly, an American Hero. Thank you.

  • Thank You for posting this tribute to one of my favorite horses of all time. I would go out of my way to see him because he was just amazing. The last time I saw him run was in Atlantic city race track when he was 9 years old and made it look easy God Bless a Great Horse.
