Why? Where the hell are you from? With out him U would probably be speaking German today. Can you imagine how many lives he saved with his genius?
How stupid could a country possibly be. Hitler most likely would have won the war.
All of Europe and the Russians and the US owe a Turing a great debt. The price we pay 4 ignorance is beyond measure. Dark age laws and attitudes are still with us in many ways when it comes to gays
This is the thanks we give him? Just stupid.

Correction to the video: Alan Turing was NOT involved in breaking Lorenz, that was done by Bill Tutte and his team in the Research Dept. Max Newman then got involved and brought in Tommy Flowers from the Post Office Research Establishment in Dollis Hill. It was Tommy who designed Colossus and Tommy, Alan Coombs and their team at DH built it in 1943. Turing DID write the algorithms that Colossus worked on, many of which are still secret today but he had no hand in the design.

It is a myth that Apple computers developed their logo in his honor. The bite in the apple is to give it scale, that is to say that it will always be an apple, no matter how small it is printed. This explanation came from the persom who developed the logo himself, although he is happy the myth developed.

Where ever you are Alan...THANKS!!!!!!!!

I never knew that about the apple logo, what a fine tribute. I am English and it is a sad state of affairs that Mr Turing was treated as he was. The law at that time was indeed an ass

OK I've got it now

What is this song?

Not a very fitting reward for a man who saved countless thousands of lives.

LFraserS said: "Contrary to popular belief, the Apple logo was not some kind of homage to Alan Turing". Ok, that's right. But it's a beautiful coincidence. Thanks so much Alan for your impressive work. Jorge Ramio, Cryptography Professor Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain.

@JorgeRamio indeed as you so correctly put it, a beautiful coincidence. Thanks for watching! And, of course, to Alan

He was a genus. At our darkest hour we relied on Turing. He never let us down.
Irishguy20008 2 years ago
indeed, but unfortunately our old fashioned justice let him down at his darkest hour. still, he should be honoured as a war hero along with churchill, bomber harris, monty etc
