If you buy a product that is DOA and still within the store return period, don't call tech support! Simply return it to the store. Here is another uneducated consumer . . .

I feel your pain, I have an HP dv9008nr laptop. I was on the for with HP tech support for two hours about three years ago. Basically, they wanted me to pay $298 to have the left hinge replace (do to a hardware defect). I ended up emailing the CEO of HP and he authorized the repair free of charge.

@gilbynglen actually the laptop was purchased direct from HP not from a store. Here's an uneducated viewer.
