What happened to Reliant?
AlejjSi 2 years ago
Reliant stopped producing the iconic Scimitar GTE in 1986 to concentrate on a new sports car called the SS1 and sold the rights to the GTE to a company called Middlebridge, who produced 77 Middlebridge Scimitars in 1989 but they went into receievership. Reliant built the SS1, SST & the last sports car called the Scimitar Sabre in about 1996.
The Reliant Motor Company stopped producing cars in 2001. The hand building process was too expensive & they couldn't compete against mass produced cars.
