A fall at work caused Mark Hudy to lose his $70,000 a year salary as a subcontractor. A disability check and his wife's part-time income aren't enough to make ends meet. Seth Doane reports.
i understand this. three years ago we were well off until my parents were returning from oregon in their tiny saturn and got hit by a semi truck. totalled the car. injured both my parents. mom cant work and dads barely hanging on at his job. we make more than this but its hard every month.
My husband had a brain injury from a fall and was self employed so there is no workers comp. I really feel for these people. The only reason I've kept our ship afloat for 2 yrs is that we lived way below our means before the injury - and I also visit our local food bank a couple times a week.

So they are bringing a little less than 25k a year. They are not paying the mortgage, not paying utilities, what bills are they paying???
I feel bad for them but why have a job working in potentially dangerous conditions without insurance? Why is she only working part time cleaning?
Sad story, but seems like their should be solutions.
