The University of Central Oklahoma is proud to partner with US Paralympics and USA Volleyball in hosting the 2010 Sitting Volleyball World Championships July 10-19, 2010. For 11 days the University of Central Oklahoma and the City of Edmond will be home to approximately 640 athletes and coaches from across the globe. Teams will compete for their spot in Paralympic history by winning their slot in the 2012 London Paralympic games.

The University of Central Oklahoma is the official home for Sitting Volleyball in the United States and is designed and equipped for various competitions at the elite level. Located at the center of Edmond, UCO will offer Sitting Volleyball participants a state of the art work out facility, nearby walking trails and parks, basketball courts, sand volleyball pits, and a wide variety of restaurants located within walking distance. Oklahoma City, the State Capitol, (population 550,000) is located only 15 miles from Edmond.

Opening Ceremonies will be held on the University of Central Oklahoma campus at Hamilton Field House July 10, 2010. Ceremonies will include recognition of teams from each nation and a wide variety of entertainment with an Oklahoma Flair.
