  • Wow you are talented. I didn't know fountain pens were still in use. What advantages do they have over ball point?

  • @Arbiter567 Thanks. A lot more freedom using ink and the nib can make varying marks with pressure of the hand.

  • Is this P51 or Hero 616? Are you using those thick artist's sheets of paper? I have some (although I'm an engineer, not an artist) and they are really rough most probably because they were meant for a brush & (acrylic) paint. Anyway, it feels very scratchy.

  • @kotapaka Yes its a Hero 616 fountain from a pack of 12 off ebay. The paper is a cartridge paper 150 gm . I have also experimented with different kinds of paper to see which paper causes the ink to bleed and not to bleed etc Moleskin water colour books are excellent for pen and ink drawing's too. I also use Noodlers black bulletproof (eel) ink as well. The ink is excellent, fade proof and the 'eel' element is for a smooth flow of the ink from the fountain pen.

  • This is really cool. You're an excellent artist! I'm especially impressed that you did all of that with just a pen. Also, thank you for not playing terrible/obnoxious music as you draw! (For some reason that just drives me insane, but so many drawing videos do it...)

  • @spiritwolf112 Thank you, sorry about the late response.

  • as an artist of over 25 years, your "scratching" as the other commenter said, is not bad or wrong. Some people who are learning to draw sketchily as a way of making up for unsure line, but this artist clearly has a sure hand and the "scratchiness" is line quality, one with character and is just a style. Nothing bad about it at all. Unless art requires rules and referrees... ?
