Subtitle: We don't brake for animals. Two EMD SD75M engines in "Warbonnet" paint run toward Chana after scaring one confused (And maybe nearsighted?) deer. BNSF 8207 was the trailing unit.

Railfan JT and I saw the first deer cross. And as is often the case, they don't travel singly. Why it stopped as the metal monster bore down on it....? This could have had a worse result for the deer, obviously.

The telephoto effect makes it look closer. But I think it was still a close call.

You can see the conductor turn his head to watch the escaping deer.

  • I love your videos. When I started working for ATSF in 1950 I was trained to operate an old EMD GP-7 Switch Engine and retired in 1974 with an old EMD GP-35. There was a EMD GP-9 in between.
