Mike Butcher is editor of TechCrunch Europe and is closely involved in a project to bring European technology entrepreneurs and investors together in a club environment called TechHub. Mike has written for newspapers including The Financial Times, The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph and is a former editor of New Media Age, the UK's leading new media weekly. We caught up with Mike last year at TechCrunch Berlin.
In the interview, the London native talks to Gruenderszene International about the current state of the Internet industry, why he is so taken by Twitter and what Web 2.0 and mobile start-ups he is currently keeping an eye on. Perhaps most interesting are his remarks on how the European tech scene has a lot of catching up to do to keep pace with the USA, while outstripping it in the mobile domain in terms of sheer innovation.
