  • I do have a short clip of the ITV Schools caption and countdown clock leading into a edition of Junior Maths from about 1982 which I will upload soon.

  • I have uploaded a TVS morning junction from September 1987 leading from the end of that morning's broadcast of TVAM right up to the first ever edition of Chain Letters.

  • This track and most of the other ITV Schools' Interlude pieces along with some BBC ones from the 1970's and 1980's can be found on a new double CD called "Watch With Teacher". You can find this Cd by searching under Winchester Hospital Radio from your Search Engine and then click on their CD section where there is a full track listing of the 79 tracks along with full ordering details. It can also be ordered from the HMV or Amazon websites.. just search under "Watch With Teacher".

  • I've often wondered why they dont bring these back in an overnight slot, beats "The Mint" and "ITV Nightscreen"

  • @RobRobintv I'm pretty sure the clock music is called "Timeless". Sad day when this ended.

  • And what is this brilliant tune......?

  • Good Continuity, pity Schools programming after 1987 started to "Bland Out". When Schools programming got to C4.. It then got mostly dire.. It all got "PC" cold and lifeless... The people in charge stopped thinking about the deights of childhood no wonder it was axed in the early 90's when it was it was then called "4-learning". Mind you I did like The "Rotomotion" with the "Journey and Just-A-Minute by James Aldenham..... But it was all better when we had the clock.... Shame really......

  • do you know when school programmes stop broadcasting?

  • early 1987, because ITV Schools moved to Channel 4 in September, the same year.

  • I didn't think it could be possible to get nostalgic about an old tv junction clock! Things just ain't the same.

  • I have this and it's great. The memories came flooding back. All the originals in remastered quality.

  • I agree with the above but I'd have thought it would be the same as any other closedown at the end of a summer term, or perhaps the announcer did remind us to tune into CH4 next term? Around the time they aired those videos promoting schools programmes would be on 4 from 14th September so maybe they didnt bother. Certainly the closedown for 28th June 1993 would have been the same as any other - a sad way for 36 years of ITV schools to end like that.

  • Has anybody an idea if there is a clip of the final ever closedown for ITV Schools back on Monday 29 June 1987. It would be nice to see how ITV Schools finished their final ever closedown from that date.
