Enterprise - Requiem Mass

Turn up the volume! It works better that way.

Okay, there are two things I wanted to do in this MV. The first is: I wanted to show the romantic side of Enterprise. That's a bit more work then you might thing, considering any time T'Pol and Trip get together, they are both pretty sexually aggressive. To get the tenderness I wanted, I had to slow down many of the clips to half speed, as well as re-edit them. I also added a number of eye movements and expressions that weren't actually from those spots.

For the action, I wanted to go big. I wanted something that matched the intensity of the music. For this section, I went exactly opposite of my strategy for the romantic starter. It has a lot of quick cuts, and I actually sped up a lot of the action sequences to keep with the pacing. I also included a touching moment in the middle between Trip and T'Pol, because I felt it was getting too far away from them to dive into the ending I wanted.

The music is an edited audio track of two songs. One is an unnamed ambiance track from Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and the other is Requiem Mass by Mozart.

I love Mozart's Requiem so of course had to take a peek at this vid. The action sequence was lovely, but the beginning of the vid set to Elder Scrolls (which I had never heard before) was exquisite. Breathtakingly so.

Thanks very much, it was a fun editing job. The beginning was played at half speed to give it a more sensitive feel. Also, in the show, the shot where she looked down at his lips came after the kiss. I thought it would more romantic the other way around, and better help build up to it.

I agree that this probably should have been two vids, but I LOVE the beginning! It is brilliant! I really wish they hadn't cancelled it!

I LIKE the contrast of the two parts -- this is a really interesting video that very creatively captures two important aspects of the show. I like the music choices, too.

They seemed like they really should have been two different vids. The switch from Elder Scrolls to Requiem Mass seemed abrupt and, honestly a bit clumsy. However, if these were two different vids entirely, they would both be 5-star worthy. Good job.
