stew showing everyone how to wheelie.

Text tutorial.

Let's start with the bike:
The most important thing on your bike, is your brake system, you will need the brake lever on your handelbars. When performing a wheelie, this will help you control speed and prevent you from falling on your butt. Your rear brake has to function properly or you will face the risk of falling.

Adjust your seat to a middle position, You'll ride the wheelie sitting down, and seat position will help keep you maintain your center of gravity and balance.

My seat height is 99 centimeters from the ground and the rails on the seat is 18 centimeters above the frame.

Now for the wheelie:
Lean back, outstretch your arms and sit on the tip of the seat. this way you'll have a comfotable position while performing the wheelie
keep one finger on the rear brake lever, and grip firmly on the bars with the rest of your fingers

One of the first things you need to learn, when you come up with the front wheel is how to control the sideway balance - this can be done with your knees, feet or by turning the handlebars in the opposite direction. Just make sure the handlebars are straight before you come down.

You can not learn this in one day, but with alot of practice you will get there. I've been training for about a year!

If you want to perform a really long wheelie, it is important that you keep your mind clear and look at the horizon. Focus on a smalle object way ahead of you, that will help you mauntain your balance.

  • How do you keep it up

  • @ELCJ2K11 stay leaning back to steady for balance and keep pedaling.

  • Not good progress. I've been doing the wrong thing. I thought i lift my bike then lean back. Probably why i failed everytime. Thanks for the tip, ima try tomorrow.

  • @ObscurityN alright do it up and i hope u succeed

  • Another question... Am i lifting the bike or just leaning back and pulling back so it lifts up?

  • @ObscurityN u should be pulling back and leaning so it lifts up, and r u making good progress?

  • Thanks :p subb

  • Thanks. I'll try a low gear. I was in high gear before (6th gear)

  • @ObscurityN u lift and at the same time pedal hard and keep pedaling ( make sure u are in a lower gear like the the first ring on your bike then the 2 gear) while doing that u still have to lean back

  • Mehh. Tried again. Got it like 3 inches up and failed. Do i pedal and lift? Or lift and pedal?
